Deep and tight bass from a compact cabinet for movies and music.

The Yamaha NS-SW050 active subwoofer adds the deep foundation that small speakers and soundbars cannot reproduce. With a 20 cm (8") woofer and built-in amplifier, the subwoofer covers frequencies down to 28 Hz — letting you feel impacts, explosions, and bass lines. It connects with a single RCA cable to the subwoofer output of an AV receiver or amplifier.

Twisted Flare Port for clean and tight bass

The Yamaha NS-SW050 features a Twisted Flare Port — a flared, gently twisting design that smooths the airflow out of the port. This reduces extraneous port noise and keeps the bass clear and articulated even at high volumes.

Advanced YST II controls cone movement

Advanced YST II (Yamaha Active Servo Technology II) manages the driver with negative impedance circuits that maintain tight control over the speaker cone. The result in the Yamaha NS-SW050 is an accurate low register without muddiness during fast passages.

Compact cabinet with a sloped front panel

Softly rounded shapes and a sloped front panel make the Yamaha NS-SW050 discreet next to a sofa, cabinet, or in the corner of a room. The matte black finish blends well with typical home speakers and TVs.

RCA connection to receiver or amplifier

The Yamaha NS-SW050 connects via an RCA input to the subwoofer/LFE output of an AV receiver, amplifier, or stereo system. It is suitable for small and medium-sized rooms as an addition to a 2.1 or 5.1 setup.
