EOS R innovation meets APS-C design

The EOS R7 is built around an APS-C sensor, so the lenses offer 1.6x the telephoto reach of the equivalent focal length on a full-frame camera. You'll feel like you're standing right next to your subject to capture frame-filling portraits and impactful action shots.

Next-generation autofocus

We've given the EOS R7 AI technology with deep learning and iTR AF (available in the EOS R3, EOS R5 and EOS R6). This means it can recognise people, animals and vehicles and keep them clearly in focus wherever they move in the frame.

Higher-level image stabilization

Imagine being able to shoot long exposures to intentionally defocus moving subjects while holding the camera in your hand, without a tripod. Or record super-smooth video while walking. In-Body Image Stabilizer (IBIS) unlocks all sorts of new ways to be creative and may even make you rethink the way you work with your camera.

Maintaining stability even when you lack it

The camera's in-body image stabilizer works in conjunction with the optical image stabilizer built into many of our RF lenses. Thanks to lightning-fast communication and the large physical width of the RF mount, 5-axis stabilization is possible with up to 7 stops with the RF-S 18-150mm F3.5-6.3 IS STM and up to 8 stops with other RF lenses.

Speed and performance that will amaze you

Capture RAW, JPEG and HEIF files at a stunning 15 fps – or up to 30 fps when using the camera’s silent electronic shutter – with continuous AF and AE that respond constantly as you shoot. The electronic shutter’s top speed of 1/16,000 s reveals details often missed by the naked eye.

Built for quick response

The camera's DIGIC X processor delivers fast, dynamic control and virtually eliminates viewfinder lag. Up to 42 RAW files and 126 JPEG files can be captured in a single burst at 30 fps.

Smooth motion captured perfectly in video

Frame rates available during video recording are up to 60p in 4K and up to 120p when recording in Full HD quality. Capture moving subjects with incredible precision and create super-smooth slow-motion effects in post-production.

Image quality that exceeds expectations

Images are rich in detail, colour and dynamic range – even in low light thanks to a maximum ISO 32,000 sensitivity. The sensor’s 7K output pre-sampling creates exceptionally high-quality 4K video, while Canon Log 3 provides wide dynamic range and post-production editing options.

Share, send, stream, and process

The EOS R7 can work with your smartphone, tablet or computer via the Canon Camera Connect app. Bluetooth low energy connectivity supports communication with your smart device so you can view, download and share full-size or reduced-size images and videos over Wi-Fi wherever you shoot. It’s also compatible with iPhone11, meaning you can connect via a high-speed USB-C cable.
