Hybrid drum machine Korg Drumlogue is a triple-hybrid device that combines the raw power and rich sound of analogue synthesis with the flexibility of digital voices and the open SDK MULTI Engine for custom synths and effects. The model features 11-voice polyphony - 4 analogue parts (bass drum, snare drum, low tom and high tom), 6 PCM/sample-based parts and 1 Multi-Engine part (Noise, VPM and User Synth). It is equipped with a powerful 64-step sequencer, intuitive front-panel controls and professional connectivity, which makes it an ideal rhythmic brain for live performances and studio production.
Drumlogue offers exceptional possibilities for creating dynamic rhythms and beats. The newly developed analogue circuits from Korg's legendary engineer Junichi Ikeuchi (ARP 2600 M, MS-20 Mini, ARP Odyssey) provide depth and richness of sound on a completely new level. The analogue parts create a solid foundation for your compositions with increased harmonic saturation and full low frequencies. Every part – analogue or digital – has a dedicated volume control, which makes the mixing process extremely smooth and easy. The most important parameters for each part have dedicated front-panel controls for quick and intuitive changes without the need to navigate menus.
The advanced 64-step sequencer with 11 parts includes modern music-creation features that let you build dynamic grooves effortlessly. The sequencer supports step sequencing, live sequencing and motion sequencing, offering step probability, alternative triggers, micro-timing, groove on each track, chain, loop, motion and accents. You can save up to 128 programs and 128 drum kits (64 factory, all overwritable), giving you enormous flexibility in organising your sounds.
The model features built-in effects - Delay, Reverb and a Master section with the option to send each part, bypass each part and sidechain to the master bus. Thanks to logueSDK you can load third-party user effects – up to 24 user effects per type (Delay/Reverb/Master). The Multi Engine part includes Variable Phase Modulation (VPM) and a Noise generator, as well as a new User Custom slot, which can play full synth voices with huge sound possibilities. The device offers 32 MB of internal memory for samples, programs, kits, synths and user effects, with a maximum sample length of up to 4 seconds. Included are 256 user memory slots and 128 preloaded samples.
Professional connectivity makes Drumlogue perfect for any musical environment. The rear panel offers stereo 1/4" main output (L/Mono and R) and four 1/4" individual outputs (1-4), a 1/4" headphone output, a 1/8" audio input for processing external sources, MIDI In/Out (5-pin), analogue Sync In/Out (3.5 mm mini jack), a USB Type-B port (to host computer) and a USB Type-A port (for MIDI controllers such as nanoKONTRO2, nanoPAD2 and nanoKEY2). The body is made of aluminium with a sloped panel and wooden side panels, and the OLED display provides clear visualisation of parameters.
