Which charging stations can I charge from with this cable?

Duosida cables (T2A32P3B), marked “Type 2 to Type 2” (IEC-62196), which are available at EVPoint, are suitable for charging stations with a Type 2 socket. This means that with this cable you can charge your electric car or plug-in hybrid at almost all public charging stations in Europe with a power of up to 22 kW!

What is the optimal length of the charging cable?

If you are using the charging cable in a specific location, such as at home or at work, it is important to choose the cable length carefully. It is usually between 4 and 6 meters. If the cable is mainly used when you are on the road (public charging stations) or in different locations (where other vehicles may be parked between the charging station and your vehicle), we recommend choosing a longer length.

What is the weight of the charging cables?

The weight of the charging cable can be calculated by adding half a kilogram per meter and one kilogram for both connectors. An 8-meter charging cable weighs about 5 kilograms. The exact weight can still be found in the technical parameters of the product.

How fast can this cable charge?

An electric car can travel an average of about 5.5 km with 1 kWh of stored energy in the battery.

The maximum current for this charging cable is 32A with a maximum of 3 phases (450 V). If this cable is connected to a charging station that can supply 3-phase with 32A, then this cable can deliver approximately 22 kW of continuous power.

So, if the car is charged at the maximum 22 kW, this means that it can charge 22 kWh (kilowatt-hours) in one hour, which roughly corresponds to a range of 110 km (5.5 km x 22 kWh).

With this, the maximum charging speed of the cable is 110 km/h (when connected to a charger that can provide three-phase charging with 32A).
