Equipped as standard with the STIHL 3/8" PM3 saw chain, which ensures high-quality cutting with low vibration. In addition, the saw chain can be easily tensioned without the use of tools, thanks to the STIHL quick chain tensioning device. With the STIHL MS 172 petrol chainsaw, you spare your muscles and joints while working, thanks to the STIHL anti-vibration system. This means that your chainsaw runs evenly and smoothly.

The single-lever control is particularly convenient, allowing you to operate all saw functions with just one hand. If you interrupt your work, the chainsaw is immediately ready to start again. MAKES CONTROL EASIER. Only one more starting position of the combination lever is required. After switching off, the control lever automatically springs back into the working position thanks to the stop function. This means that the warm machine can be started again directly.

STIHL quick chain tensioner

CHAIN ADJUSTMENT WITHOUT TOOLS. Thanks to the STIHL quick chain tensioning device, you can adjust your saw chain quickly and without tools using the adjusting wheel. Turning the adjusting wheel to the left loosens the chain, turning it to the right tightens it. If you tighten the guide wheel cover, the bar is automatically locked.

Manual fuel pump

ENSURES FEWER NUMBER OF PULLS REQUIRED TO START. The manual fuel pump reduces the number of pulls on the starter rope and thus speeds up the starting process. This is especially useful after longer work breaks. To do this, operate the pump several times before starting. This ensures that there is enough gasoline in the system when starting.

STIHL ErgoStart

EFFORTLESS STARTING. Thanks to STIHL ErgoStart, you save effort when starting your power tools. A gentle, even pull on the starter rope is enough. The force required to pull the starter rope is significantly reduced, and the engine starts quickly and reliably with a slow pull. This is made easier by the additional spring between the crankshaft and the starter rope pulley.

STIHL 2-Mix engine

This 2-stroke engine is designed for easy maintenance and uses fuel efficiently even at high power. Use a mixture of gasoline and engine oil as fuel. STIHL anti-vibration system

Compensator

Therefore, clean the air filter only when there is a noticeable drop in power. This allows you to operate for a long time without maintenance.
