HDMI 2.0, sometimes referred to by some manufacturers as HDMI UHD, was released on 4 September 2013. The HDMI 2.0 cables increase the maximum TMDS per channel bandwidth from 3.4Gbit/s to 6Gbit/s, which allows a maximum total TMDS bandwidth of 18Gbit/s. This allows HDMI 2.0 to use 4K resolution at 60 frames per second. Other features of HDMI 2.0 include Rec. 2020 options, colour space, dual picture, 4:2:0 saturated sampling, 25fps 3D formats, up to 4 audio streams, 21:9 aspect ratio, non-AAC and DRA audio standards, improved 3D capability and additional CEC functions. HDMI 2.0a was released on 8 April 2015, with added support for high dynamic range video.
