Audio system / wireless speaker

SONOS ERA 100 SL BLACK audio system — wireless Wi-Fi speaker without microphone

Stereo sound from a compact speaker, without a built-in microphone.

Sonos Era 100 SL Black is a compact wireless speaker for home listening, where two angled tweeters and a separate mid-woofer provide a stereo image from a single body. The SL version is without a built-in microphone and without a voice assistant — control is handled via the Sonos app, Apple AirPlay 2, Bluetooth or the touch buttons on top.

Two angled tweeters and a mid-woofer for stereo from a single body

Three class-D digital amplifiers power the high-frequency speakers and the bass driver separately, and profiled waveguides disperse the sound more widely in the room. Vocals remain forward and clear even at higher volume levels.

No microphone — privacy by design

"SL" means that there is physically no microphone array in the speaker, consequently there is no voice assistant and no way to listen to the room. Music selection, room grouping, and settings remain in the Sonos app on the phone.

Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3 and AirPlay 2 for every source

Over the home network, the speaker works as part of the Sonos system and connects in a stereo pair with a second Era 100 SL, and with Bluetooth it takes sound directly from a guest's phone or laptop. The USB-C port on the back accepts an analog source, such as a turntable, via a Sonos Line-In Adapter (accessory sold separately).

Compact housing for a shelf, kitchen, or bathroom

Height 182.5 mm and weight 1.95 kg allow for placement on a narrow shelf or countertop, and the touch strip on top changes the volume with a swipe of a finger. The construction is resistant to high humidity, such as that in a bathroom with a running shower — the speaker is not waterproof and should not get wet.
