Characteristics:
High coverage up to 12 m2/l per coat. Very good hiding power. Durability of the coating and color over time. The paint structure reduces the penetration of dust and other impurities into the walls.
Easy application thanks to a non-drip formula, very good adhesion, easy application, and short drying time.
Method of application:
Brush, roller, spray (nozzle: 517, pressure: 180-200 bar).
Drying time at 23oC and relative air humidity of 50%: approximately 1 hour of drying. The interval between coat applications should be at least 4 hours.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Application conditions: All surfaces intended for coating must be dry, the air temperature must not be lower than +5°C and not higher than +25°C, the relative air humidity must be below 80%.
Surface preparation:
Unpainted surfaces: New plaster and concrete substrates can be painted 4 weeks after complete drying. Plasterboard, cardboard, and putty can be painted after they are completely dry. Clean these surfaces from dust and dirt, smooth out unevenness and weak spots with filler. In case the surface unevenness is significant, the wall must be leveled with a leveling mortar and then a smooth filler should be applied over the entire surface. Then apply one coat of OPTIVA Primer. It is possible to prime the surface with diluted OPTIVA Color – maximum water dilution up to 30%.
Previously painted surfaces:
Wash the surface before applying the coating and remove grease, dirt, and weak and peeling fragments of the old coating. Sand glossy surfaces and smooth out unevenness with filler. Paints with a glossy effect - satin, semi-matte, semi-gloss, and gloss must be sanded over the entire surface before final dusting. It is possible to prime the surface with diluted Optiva Color – maximum water dilution up to 30%. As a finishing coat, apply two coats of OPTIVA Color.
Surfaces treated with glue or lime paint: Thoroughly remove the lime paint or glue. Clean the surfaces from dust and dirt, smooth unevenness with filler. Then apply one coat of Tikkurila Optiva primer. In case of a weak substrate, prime with Suprabilit. Note: It is recommended to check whether the used filler has a sound and stable surface; if after a slight wipe with the hand the filler falls off or leaves dust on the hand, it means the surface is crumbly and must be primed with Suprabilit.
Finishing coat: Before painting, dilute a sufficient amount of paint from a single production batch to avoid possible color variation. Mix the paint thoroughly before application. Depending on the porosity of the substrate, apply 2 coats of Optiva Color with a brush, roller, or spray. For colors with particularly weak hiding power (marked in the tinting system), additional coats may need to be applied. In the case of applying colors marked in the tinting system as low-hiding (LH) and intense colors from base C, it is recommended to use Tikkurila Optiva Primer tinted to a color close to the color of the finishing paint. The masking tape for limiting the painted surface should be removed immediately after painting, before the paint dries. It is recommended to use ANZA painting tools. Note: The quality of full
resistance to wet cleaning, according to PN-EN 13300, the coating achieves after 28 days from the completion of painting.
